Lambeth Council Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Offer

Are you a Lambeth business with an interest in apprenticeships? Lambeth Council is working to support our local businesses to create new apprenticeships for local people through apprenticeship levy transfer.

If you are a non-levy paying business – that is, one whose pay bill is less than £3m per annum – you could benefit from fully funded apprenticeship training and recruitment support from Opportunity Lambeth.

How to apply

If you would like to recruit an apprentice and would like to apply for funding for apprenticeship training through Lambeth Council apprenticeship levy transfer, please complete our levy transfer application form and one of the team will get in touch to discuss your application.

What is an apprenticeship, and how will it benefit my business?

Apprenticeships are a great way for you to expand your workforce, grow your own talent and motivate your employees by supporting them to develop new skills. You can employ apprentices at different levels - from ‘entry level’ for school leavers right up to degree level, across a wide range of sectors. Apprentices spend 20% of their time on ‘off the job’ training, developing new skills to benefit both the apprentice, and your business.

  • 86% of employers say that apprenticeships have helped their staff to develop skills relevant to the organisation
  • 78% of employers say that apprenticeship help them to improve business productivity
  • 74% of employers say that apprenticeships help them to improve the quality of their product or services

How are apprenticeships funded?

Apprenticeship training can be funded through the apprenticeship levy. Big employers with a pay bill of over £3m pay into the levy and can then draw down levy funding to fund their apprenticeship training. Employers are responsible for paying the salary of their apprentices.

Levy paying employers – such as Lambeth Council - can also support smaller businesses to fund their apprenticeship training through apprenticeship levy transfer. Apprenticeship training costs range from £2,500 (Level 2) up to £27,000 for (Level 6/7 - degree level).
